BIO
JAMES COX grew up in Menlo Park, CA, attended Berkeley then NYU, and is an award-winning filmmaker who’s written and directed a number of motion pictures premiering at Sundance and Toronto, including Wonderland starring Val Kilmer and the acclaimed short Atomic Tabasco.
He’s directed multiple Academy Award and Golden Globe winners or nominees—among them, Jake Gyllenhaal, Anna Paquin, Taron Egerton and Jared Leto—and has worked with Ridley Scott, Jerry Bruckheimer, Mike DeLuca, Donna Langley, Michael Mann, New Line, Warner Bros, Lionsgate, Disney, and is currently represented by Shane Salerno’s The Story Factory.
A worldbuilder of science fiction, fantasy, and elevated horror, James lives with his fiancée and their baby daughter in Los Angeles, hard at work at the sequel to his debut novel Grand Theft AI.
